DUFFERIN FOREST/PALGRAVE RIDES DEC 16/17

What an awesome weekend for riding! Weather was almost like a standard West Coast day. Not often the temp is in the double digits in Dec and we all took advantage of the occassion. Our buddy 'Lefty' rides with members of the Bolton Mountain Bike Club and she invited Sarge and Alp Boy to a ride on saturday at Dufferin Forest and sunday at the Palgrave tract. The gang are a great group. They put the fun back into riding.

Dufferin forest reminds me of Durham forest and Ganaraska. Pine forests, sandy trails that are rideable even under very wet conditions, long windy trails and lovely hills.

Palgrave is just north of Albion Hills and is an amazing trail. Very very technical at the beginning and middle with good hills and lots of tight twisty sections. Sarge and I rode thru with the gang and then rode the trail backwards....a very wicked workout. No wonder the BMBC gang are in such great riding form.

If you would love to join a great mountain bike club located just north of Toronto, give the Bolton Mountain Bike Club a try.

On the BMBC website there is a link to the TRCA (Toronto Regional Conservation Authority) discussion on the future of the Palgrave tract trails. I strongly urge all Mountain bikers to take a great interest in this. Palgrave is an incredible riding area and our input is strongly required to prevent bikers from losing this gem in the pursuit of multi purpose use. The TRCA controls a great amount of green space in the GTA and this space is where we bike. We need to have the TRCA be aware of the benefits of including mountain bikers in their plans. Ok..I'll get off my soap box now cuz I need a bath.
